In the heart of Bled there is a lovely place which resembles a fairy tale Slovenian cottage with wooden balconies overgrown with trailing flowers, our Luxury Homestay Berc. The charming garden is strewn with tables and chairs and indoors there is a typical, farmhouse style restaurant which offers delicious, home cooked breakfasts, which are included in the price. When you see the air-conditioned bedrooms, you know you are in the demanding, 21st century level of style and comfort. Attention to detail is visible in large showers, huge beds, private balconies and beautiful, locally crafted, solid wood doors which have hand-carved decorative details!

The Homestay has eleven sumptuous, alpine-style double bedrooms, each with an additional sofa, a wardrobe, a TV and ensuite shower. The sofa can be made into another, comfortable double bed. All the bedrooms are spacious and many have balconies with lake views. High quality bed linen and towels are used throughout. The rooms have individually crafted, locally made solid wood beds, all in the original, Slovenian, rustic style, which is very attractive. There is a lot of wood and stone in the bedrooms, also very typical for the local rural architecture. The exposed stone walls in some bedrooms are very calming, whilst wood clad walls and ceilings feel very cosy.
The breakfast restaurant is extremely inviting and offers a great choice of local food: charcuterie, pastries, fresh baked breads, fresh and dried fruit, nuts, salads, cheeses, pickles and cakes. Coffees, teas and herbal infusions are delicious. This will set you up very well for the day's sightseeing and exploration.

FLIGHT INFORMATION
Slovenia has an international airport (Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport) at Brnik, about 25km north of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Ljubljana airport is convenient for the alpine resorts and the lakes of Bled and Bohine. The airport is 130km to the Slovenian coastline.
Fly to Ljubljana from the UK with Easyjet (from London Stansted or London Gatwick) or British Airways (from London Heathrow).

For the western part of Slovenia and the coastline it may be more convenient to fly to to Italy (Trieste, Treviso or Venice Marco Polo). Trieste airport is closer to the western part of Slovenia than Ljubljana airport, just 55km from the Slovenian border. There are flights to Trieste with Ryanair from London Stansted, Valencia in Spain, Bari in Italy and from Malta. Other airlines flying to Trieste are Alitalia from Rome and Milan, and Volotea from Naples.
Another option is to fly to Pula in Croatia. The airport is 80km from the Slovenian border. Fly to Pula from the UK with Ryanair, EasyJet, TUI and British Airways and from Dublin with Air Lingus. There are direct flights from many other European countries including The Netherlands, France, Germany, Belgium, Russia, Switzerland and Italy.
